About the Owners

Dan and Rachel purchased the property that would become Mountain Path Meadows in 2020 after seeking a post-pandemic tree change and sea change. Inspired by Dick and Angel Strawbridge from Escape to the Chateau, we planned to create a wedding ceremony venue and short-term tourist accommodations on the property.

It didn’t take the couple long to fall in love with the Meadows, as we call it, and we’re confident anyone who visits will be equally enthralled by its beauty and serenity.

Our Values

In building our business, we abide by a set of core beliefs that are largely informed by permaculture principles.

  1. Embrace what’s unique: Differences shouldn’t just be tolerated — they should be learned about, celebrated, embraced. We’re a bit different; after all, we live at the foot of a volcano! We welcome diversity with open hearts and curious minds. To be extra clear, that means all humans are welcome here, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. And while we happily embrace differences, we don’t tolerate disrespect.

  2. We’re all connected: We believe that none of us act in isolation. We’re all in this together. That’s why we’re using regenerative agriculture and permaculture principles and intend to consult with the traditional Aboriginal owners, who know how to best care for our precious land in the Limestone Coast. After all, they’ve cared for it for literally tens of thousands of years!

  3. Think long-term: We’re invested in improving our community by bringing a progressive, modern, and client-focused business approach to our region — not just for our gain, but for the long-term benefit of the area. If we can put Mount Schank on the map, it’s a win-win for everybody.
